Apple iPhone 8 – “Curve Display” Rumours Vs The "Reality"

Apple leak reveals All Curved Display, the OLED version of the new iPhone will all be curved as Apple ordered all plastic OLED – not glass – from Samsung Display. Samsung is capable of supplying a little less than 100 million units of curved OLED displays to Apple.

Whats this all about – “All Curve Display”

Here its all relate to a display that curves at all four sides of the iPhone connective tissue (fascia). “Quad curved” would be a simpler description and given Samsung’s “Dual Curved” Galaxy S7 Edge is wide thought to be the best looking smartphone within the world.
The Korea Herald says Apple is working on new ‘sensing technology’ which would detect contact on the sides of the display not just the front.

OLED plastic panel

If the source is true, this is bad news plain and straightforward. The big (and only) good thing about plastic is it doesn’t shatter like glass because plastic is thereafter so instead it dints and scratches. Motorola went this route with the ‘shatterproof’ Moto Force, however whereas the phone was so unbreakable it picked up marks and scratches terribly simply because of this softer material and most Force phones looked terrible after a year.
Plastic and glass have terribly completely different chemical properties and plastic absorbs impact well at the value of trace marks whereas glass repels impact well at the value of minor damage right till it shatters. There’s additionally the actual fact that plastic isn’t thought to be a premium material and doesn’t feel as pleasant as glass to the touch. So, the only logic would be Apple using plastic as an underlayer to help a glass display better absorb impact. But if iPhone 8 goes to be as expensive as expected, then Apple will need to stay the word ‘plastic’ as far away from public knowledge as possible.

Is Pakistan Worried Over Trump’s Victory?

Donald Trump’s surprise election as the 45th United States President has Pakistanis wary that he may accelerate what they see as a shift in American policy to favour arch-foe India in the long rivalry between nuclear-armed neighbours, analysts said on Wednesday.
Historical allies in the region, Islamabad and Washington have seen relations sour over US accusations that Pakistan shelters Islamist militants, a charge Pakistan denies. They hit new lows in May when a US drone killed the leader of the Afghan Taliban movement on Pakistani territory.
At the same time, Pakistan’s ties with traditional rival India have also deteriorated this year, with India saying Pakistan-based militants killed 19 of its soldiers in a September attack on the Uri army base in the disputed Kashmir region.
To many Pakistanis, Trump’s anti-Muslim rhetoric — he once proposed banning Muslims entering the United States — and business ties with India are signs that his administration could shift further toward New Delhi.
“America will not abandon Pakistan, but definitely, Trump will be a tougher President than Hillary Clinton for Pakistan,” said Hasan Askari Rizvi, Lahore-based foreign policy analyst. “I think India will have a better and smoother interaction compared to Pakistan.”
Mr. Trump has yet to lay out a detailed policy for South Asia, although he recently offered to mediate between India and Pakistan in their dispute over the divided territory of Kashmir.
He also told Fox News in May that he would favour keeping nearly 10,000 US troops in Afghanistan “because it’s adjacent and right next to Pakistan which has nuclear weapons.”

MUST READ!! Why Donald Trump consider Pakistan as a the main problem of terrorism.

A nuclear-armed Pakistan is a "very very vital problem", Republican presidential front- runner Donald Trump has said and asserted that the country needs to "get a hold of" its situation.
"Pakistan is a very, very vital problem and really vital country for us because they have a thing called nuclear weapons. They have to get a hold of their situation," Trump told CNN during a town hall in Wisconsin, where the Republican presidential primary is scheduled for April 5.
"When I see that and when I see it put in a park because it was mostly Christians, although many others were killed other than Christians, I think it's just absolutely a horrible story," he said referring to the terrorist attack in Lahore on Easter Sunday that claimed 74 lives and injured over 300 others.
"I'm talking about radical Islamic terrorism. I will solve it far better than anybody else running," Trump said in response to a question.
A large number of people were present at the crowded Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park of Allama Iqbal Town in Lahore when a powerful blast took place on Sunday. A large number of Christian families were present in the park due to Easter Sunday.
The brutal attack by a suicide bomber -- believed to be in his 20s -- was claimed by the Jamaatul Ahrar, a splinter group of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Marvel Pinball Epic Collection: Volume 1 Heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One Nov 8th

2016 has been another busy year for Marvel. From Netflix's Luke Cage to the Captain America “Hail Hydra” twist, there's hardly been a boring moment for the fanbase. Now that New York Comic Con has come and gone, Marvel news is already back in full swing in preparation for 2017. But there isn't just upcoming comics and series to look forward. There's also spin-off releases. On November 8th, a variety of Marvel characters and franchises are coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in a brand new format: pinball.
Developed by Zen Studios and published by Nighthawk Interactive, Marvel Pinball Epic Collection: Volume 1 brings together 10 pinball tables based on the Marvel Universe. The collection touches on such classic characters as Blade, Iron Man, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man. There's also tables dedicated to Marvel's recent The Avengers, Civil War and Ant-Man franchises. The tables draw closely on the original series or materials released by Marvel, too.
Gameplay looks quite interesting, with realistic pinball physics in play throughout the game. Plus, based on the player's actions on the pinball table, different animations or scenes play out on each table. Which means Marvel Pinball Epic Collection: Volume 1 is sure to have a variety of cameos and shout outs that will appeal to diehard fans of Marvel's current comic and movie franchises.
Will there be other editions of Marvel Pinball Epic Collection in the near future? It seems likely, based on the title. Not to mention, there's always a variety of new TV shows and movies for Marvel to reference, such as Luke Cage or Jessica Jones. Time will tell for certain if that's the case, though. In the meantime, the pinball collection hits North America shelves Nov 8th and Nov 25th in Europe, with a pre-order price of $29.99 USD. No word yet if any other consoles will receive pinball releases in the near future.

Here's why most of our Mars missions fail

An image of the Schiaparelli Mars lander, which touched Mars' surface on Wednesday, October 19 2016 and stopped transmitting signals. This was the second Mars mission failure for Europe after 2003.Reuters
The failure of ExoMars made news lately, but it is not the only unsuccessful space mission. There are many other missions which tried to explore more about Mars and failed miserably.

Since the 1960s, craft operating missions for exploring the Martian surface have failed several times. The unsuccessful ExoMars mission with the Schiaparelli Mars lander, is the second failure for Europe after the first unsuccessful attempt in 2003. ExoMars was a joint mission of the European Space Agency (ESA) and Russian Federal Space Agency (RFSA).

Sputnik 24
A Soviet mission was launched way back in 1962 in which a spacecraft named Sputnik 24 failed to leave Earth's orbit. The engine burn caused the breaking of the rocket and its play load which caused the failure of this mission. Two months later, the spacecraft fell back to Earth, according to The Guardian.

Mars 2
A man-made spacecraft named Mars 2 was the first Soviet lander to touch the surface of the Red planet, but unfortunately it got separated from its orbiter after its braking rockets separated from it on landing.

Mars 3
The third craft launched by the Soviet Union called Mar 3 landed on Mars' surface successfully. It even transmitted a 20-second video from the planet, but was followed by the loss of signal. The researchers were not able to fetch the beneficial data from the recording.

Mars 6
In March 1974, a lander was released by the Mars 6 orbiter. The information was transmitted by the Soviet robot, but it failed prior its landing on Mars.

Mars 7
Mars 7 orbiter was sent to Mars in 1974 after the failure of Mars 6 mission. This lander didn't make it to Mars and is presently orbiting around the Sun instead.

Mars 96
In the November of 1996, the Russian spacecraft Mars 96 was devised with the aim of carrying two landers to the Red planet. This spacecraft unfortunately fell into the South Pacific Ocean along with 270 grams of plutonium after it entered the Earth's orbit.

Mars Climate Orbiter
The Mars Climate Orbiter was the first spacecraft devised to analyse an alien planet's weather, which was Mars in this case. Students of planetary exploration had used this aircraft for case study in those days. In 1999, the spacecraft ended up exploding due to an error in its software.

Mars Polar Lander
This lander belonged to the US-origin and was scheduled to land on Mars in December of 1999. The contact with this craft was lost by the mission controllers and it was found that the lander had shut down its engine a bit too early. The engine shut down was followed by the destruction of the engine because of the impact.

Beagle 2
Beagle 2 was a UK devised lander, which was released in December 2003 from the European Mars Express Orbiter. It was expected to land on Mars on December 25, 2003. The contact with this spacecraft was lost too just like the Schiaparelli Mars lander. The images of this Beagle 2 were captured by NASA around a decade later, these snaps showed the spacecraft lying on Mars' surface as a whole. Improper opening of its solar panels led to this failure.

Latest round of Galaxy S8 (Edge) gossip includes up to 8GB RAM, 80 percent screen-to-body ratio

Now that Xiaomi is done dazzling us with new dual-curved handheld powerhouses, futuristic edgeless “concepts” and crazy cheap VR headsets, it's time to once again revisit intensifying rumors over Samsung's “next big thing.”
Unfortunately (or is it?), Galaxy S8 development will reportedly only begin when investigations into Note 7 production flaws wrap up, which makes an early-than-March release highly implausible. Still, one fairly dependable Weibo tipster foresees a formal announcement on February 26, the day before the 2017 Mobile World Congress kicks off in Barcelona, followed by a commercial rollout at an unspecified date the next month.
While extremely slim-bezeled, this purported 5.5-inch Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge is no longer expected to be a “full-screen” affair, reserving 20 percent of its footprint for camera and sensor-housing borders. An 80 percent display to body ratio would squeeze between the 77 of the Mi Note 2 and Mi Max's record high 91.3 percent, although a limited, separate “concept” is also possible. Perhaps that flexible Galaxy X we haven't heard much about lately.
Back to the S8 Edge, which may or may not be the lone GS8 flavor in the pipeline, its mouth-watering spec sheet allegedly includes 3,840 x 2,160 screen resolution, Snapdragon 830 or Exynos 8895 processing power, NFC and MST support as well. Last but certainly not least, 6 and 8GB RAM options, according to this rumormonger, the latter of which sounds unlikely though not altogether inconceivable. It'll all cost you 6,000 Yuan in China, or $885, a handsome but definitely plausible amount.

SHOCKING!! Dubai: Man divorces wife after seeing her first time without make-up

A newly-wed man in the UAE has divorced his wife saying he could not recognise her when he saw her natural face for the first time after her make-up got washed off when she went for swimming.
The Arab couple went swimming at the Al Mamzar beach in Sharjah in the UAE after the 34-year-old man saw his 28-year-old wife’s “features change” as her makeup washed off, said a psychologist who counselled the unidentified woman.
The husband believed she did not look as pretty as before the wedding and accused her of deceiving him by using so many cosmetics, including fake eyelashes, the Gulf News reported.
Dr Abdul Aziz Asaf, consultant psychologist said his clinic received a request from the woman to help her overcome her psychological suffering after her divorce.
The groom said he could not recognise his wife after the make-up was gone. The bride wore artificial eyelashes and had undergone cosmetic surgeries before the marriage.
The bride said she intended to tell her husband the truth about her but it was too late, Dr Asaf said. “The groom immediately divorced his bride and refused any attempt to reunite them again,” he said.

Pakistan warns of action if India breaches Indus Water Treaty

Pakistan today warned of "appropriate action" if India violates the Indus Water Treaty and said it is closely monitoring the situation, amid reports that New Delhi may revisit the key water sharing accord.
"Appropriate action will be taken in line with the Treaty in case of any violation by India," Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said at the weekly briefing.
Pakistan was keeping a close eye on the situation, Radio Pakistan quoted him as saying.
Zakaria's remarks come amid reports that India may review the 56-year-old Indus Water Treaty.
He said that India is making "desperate attempts" to divert attention from the "atrocities and human right violations" being committed in Kashmir.
He said Pakistan is highlighting Indian brutalities in Kashmir at world fora and there has been "very substantive outcome" of these efforts but the international community remains concerned about the situation.
Responding to a question, he claimed that India violated ceasefire on the Line of Control for more than 90 times this year.
The notion of isolating Pakistan is "ridiculous", Zakaria said, adding that India's "negative attitude" has been exposed which is the biggest hurdle in the way of regional development and prosperity.
He also termed the Indian treatment to the Pakistani artistes as "very disappointing and highly regrettable" as he deplored India's decision to "use SAARC for its political ambition", according to the report.
Zakaria also referred to a media report quoting US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who described tensions between India and Pakistan as a "very, very hot tinderbox" and offered to be "the mediator or arbitrator".
Zakaria noted that though Pakistan does not comment on media reports usually, in this case it welcomed the mediation offer.
"We continue to urge our American friends including those in the administration to play their due role in resolving bilateral issues between Pakistan and India, particularly the Kashmir dispute," he said.
"And definitely Pakistan has welcomed in the past also any role of mediation, we welcome such offers," he added.

Unbelievable! Sunny Leone Changes Her Lifestyle To Be 'Purified From Infection'

Sunny Leone took to Twitter and confirmed that she's all set to change her lifestyle with her eating and drinking habits and would soon turn into a vegan. Sunny tweeted, 'Not well & my blood needs 2 be purified from infection & there is 2 much heat in my body. So I'm drinking special bad tasting tea. I'm committed!'
'I believe in traditional Chinese medicine and I guess its Gods way of telling me I'm turning into a vegan, no alcohol...caffeine...no toxins,' and 'Sad morning! My traditional Chinese medicine doctor has told me - no caffeine, no alcohol, no dairy, no meat (I'm veg so that's fine) and no spicy food,' tweeted the actress.
On The Work Front!
Sunny Leone has shot an item number named 'Laila O Laila' and has shaken a leg along with Shahrukh Khan for Raees. She will also be seen in an extended cameo for Sonakshi Sinha's upcoming film Noor. Both the movies are scheduled to hit the theatres in 2017.
The sultry actress has starred in quite a few Bollywood movies but none of them have managed to make a huge impact on the audiences. We hope the year 2017 would be a game changer for Sunny and change her fortunes in B-town.

Chinese Media Makes Fun Of #BoycottChinese Campaign; Describes Investment in India as 'Suicidal'

The on-going war of words between India and China regarding business relations and trade ties is refusing to subside. In a scathing attack launched by state-sponsored media, a Chinese publication has said that India can only 'bark' when it comes to calls for banning Chinese products.
As per a recent editorial written by' Indian-born freelance writer living in Baiyin, Gansu Province', the campaign unleashed by social media against Chinese products is 'rabble rousing', and it can do no harm to Chinese companies.
The editorial said that products manufactured by India are of low quality, and they can never match what China is producing.
The hate spewing article said: "There has been a lot of talk recently in the Indian media as well as on social media about boycotting Chinese products. It's just rabble rousing. Indian manufacturing cannot compete at all with Chinese products, for various reasons."
The anti-India article published by Global Times in China has described PM Modi's Make in India vision as impractical and baseless. In fact, they have asked Chinese companies not to invest in India, as investing in India is 'suicidal'.
The article said: "It would be completely suicidal for Chinese companies to put their money in India by starting manufacturing projects there. The labour class in India is not very hard working or efficient,"
Terming rising corruption in India, the opinion post made fun of the rising trade deficit between India-China and said that there is no need to change the status-quo, wherein Indian traders go to China and buy cheap products to sell in India.
They said, "Let the Indian authorities bark about the growing trade deficit with China. The fact of the matter is they cannot do anything about it."
No doubt China is somewhat correct in stating that #BoycottChinese campaign failed to garner traction this festive season, as record breaking sales of Chinese products were witnessed across the country.
Chinese crackers have already flooded Delhi's market, and as per data, we import 6 times of what we export to China. The rising trade deficit cannot eradicate within 3 months.
However, the fact of the matter is also that Chinese companies are right now scared of Make in India vision, and are going jittery over rising investments by Chinese companies in India. Not only Huawei, one of the largest electronics manufacturer from China, has announced to start manufacturing in India, but also Foxconn has started shifting base from China into India.
Asus, Gionee, Xiaomi, LeEco and other Chinese electronics majors are also making a beeline for India in order to kick start their manufacturing process.
As per a recent research conducted by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) states that current conditions in India is better than China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Philippines when it comes to starting a new business or manufacturing goods, and this has certainly irked Chinese media.
As per HKTDC, wages in India are lower compared to China, India has a huge in-house market which is hungry for consumption and India has a stable democracy which has induced a lot trust and belief in the country.
Besides, investors-friendly programs launched by the present Govt. has improved 'Ease of Doing Business' in India, and a massive coastline and smooth in-land transportation with rigorous focus on building infrastructure has put India in a unique position to overtake Chinese economy very soon.
The present anti-India article published by a state-sponsored media from China only amplifies one thing: India is growing faster than China, and they cannot fathom this fact. Using the #BoycottChinese debacle, Chinese media has unleashed a negative propaganda to tarnish India's image.
But they are forgetting that if India bites, then it can be much dangerous than their barks.

China building terrorist corridor in PoK, says Baloch activist

New Delhi: Calling it a China-Pakistan Terrorist Corridor (CPTC) not an Economic Corridor being build by Beijing in the Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir(PoK), Baloch Freedom activist Mazdak Dilshad Baloch has said Islamabad was carrying out a big genocide in Balochistan with China’s help . CPEC is actually a Terrorist Corridor as both these countries were terrorising and murdering Baloch people and burning their villages, displacing population and looting resources, Mazdak said in an interview to Organiser weekly, mouth organ of the RSS. “They (Chinese) dug out around 16 kg gold per day, trucks load of copper, iron coal and many more,” he said. Calling Pakistani Army the biggest terrorist in the world, the Baloch activist said all the countries should stop the military and financial aids to Pakistan as it was being used for terrorist activities and for the genocide of Baloch people. Firmly supporting the September 29 surgical strikes to decimate terrorist launch pads in the PoK region, he said India has taken a right decision. “Kashmir is an integral part of India and there is no reason for Pakistan to interfere in PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan. Pakistan is using the resources of Gilgit-Baltistan and selling it to China. We stand with India. Steps should be further taken to defend the unarmed and helpless people,” Mazdak said.

MUST READ!! A new war against Pakistan-of words

SOUTH BLOCK always had wordsmiths. But over the last few months, as India works towards naming and shaming Pakistan, their skill is on display more than ever. On Sunday morning, PM Narendra Modi called Pakistan the “mothership of terrorism” at the BRICS summit. And in the evening, at the BRICS-BIMSTEC summit, he said, “Terrorism is Pakistan’s favourite child”.

A few weeks ago, at the United Nations, India described Pakistan as the “Ivy League of terrorism”, which hit global headlines. A top official, entrusted with drafting the PM’s speeches, told The Indian Express, “Ever since the government decided to isolate Pakistan globally, we have been working on his speeches and trying to come up with innovative ways to describe Pakistan’s links with terrorism.”

He said that while South Block doesn’t have a dearth of in-house talent, they have been also reaching out to “outside experts”. “There are retired diplomats, MPs, sometimes even ministers, writers and journalists who are being tapped to give suggestions,” said the official.

The phrase “Ivy League of terrorism” was apparently coined by Indian diplomats in New York. “The intensity and frequency of use of such phrases is an outcome of our diplomatic offensive to isolate Pakistan globally,” said an official.

Traditionally, Pakistan was always described as a country which uses terrorism as an instrument of state policy. “This formulation was used by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh… it was used since the days of Rajiv Gandhi,” said Dilip Sinha, former joint secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs who was in charge of Pakistan.

An amazingly bold and unequivocal stride has been taken by Narendra Modi by satisfying GST dream, he said.

Shah said more than 250 activities have been taken by the Modi government to enhance exchange and due to this the nation has pushed ahead in Global Competitive Index. No one can offer occupation to 125 crore individuals. BJP has empowered the adolescent of this nation of giving occupation through independent work plans." He offered supplications at the primary sanctuary at Agroha Dham. His child Jay Shah was likewise present at the occasion that was a piece of a practice to rally around different standings and sub-positions connected to the Vaishya people group.

MUST READ!! China Confirms Export of 8 Submaries to Pakistan

China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation has confirmed it will deliver eight submarines to Pakistan, China People's Daily reported.

The corporation has reportedly held a meeting to discuss and set the details of the arrangements. The move aims to continue the process of spirit started by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Belt and Road Construction Network Symposium, Hu Wenming, chairman of the corporation, said according to the Daily Times.

Back in April, Reuters reported that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved the deal dubbed as "one of China's largest overseas weapon sales once it is signed." The agreement is estimated to cost between $4 billion and $5 billion, the International News reported.

Half of the submarines will allegedly be built at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KSEW), while the other half will be assembled in China.

Experts speculate that the new submarine will be a lighter export version of the People Liberation Army Navy's Type 039 and Type 041 Yuan-class conventional attack submarine, without the AIP system, which is believed to be obtained independently, Daily Pakistan noted.

The first submarine will reportedly be delivered in 2022, and another three by the end of 2023, according to the Chief Project Director of the program as reported by Quwa. The remaining batch from KSEW will be delivered by the end of 2018.

Over the years, both countries have strengthened military cooperation. "China and Pakistan are neighbors of traditional friendship with close cooperation in various fields. The normal cooperation between the two sides in the field of military industry and trade is in line with their respective international commitment," Hua Chunying, the country's foreign ministry spokesperson, said about the deal last year.

Daily Pakistan reported that the Pakistan Navy has been continuously upgrading its undersea warfare capabilities. Earlier this year, Turkish state-owned contractor STM won in a bid for the upgrade of three Agosta 90-B class (or Khalid-class) diesel-electric attack submarines equipped with air-independent propulsion systems.

After Watching Dhoni Biopic, Girl Refuses To Recognize Kohli In Flight

Movies have a great impact on the lives of Indians. We live movies and try to incorporate many things in real life. Larger the movie bigger the impact. Dhoni biopic is not left far behind in creating such situations.

A Mumbai girl named Pooja recently got so involved in the MSD biopic that she tried out the movie situation in her real life. Sorry for the spoiler, but I hope many people have watched the movie by now.

A still from MS Dhoni Biopic.
There is a sequence in the movie where Dhoni’s to-be-girlfriend fails to recognize him in a flight where the Indian team was travelling. Dhoni is bowled over by this simplicity and they are seen dating afterwards.

Pooja figured out the flight details of the Indian team when they were to fly to Indore for a test match. She somehow managed to sit next to Virat Kohli and asked him to get an autograph of Ajinkya Rahane. Everyone in the flight was shocked, as Kohli is a much bigger player than Rahane. Throughout the flight, she acted as if she had no clue who was sitting next to her.

Some of the Indian players even described Kohli for her, but she dint pay much attention. Now that 7 days are past that incident, she’s hoping she will get a call from the Indian test captain and they can start dating just like how Dhoni and his girlfriend did.

Amitabh Bachchan's New Upcoming Movie -- Sardar 3

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma unveiled the first look of major characters of his upcoming film Sarkar 3 late Sunday.

While we have seen Amitabh Bachchan as Sarkar and Jackie Shroff in a similar look, what surprises is the ferocious looks of Manoj Bajpayee, Yami Gautam, Ronit Roy and Amit Sadh in the film.

Sarkar 3, the third film in the Sarkar franchise, is all set to go on floors by the end of 2016.

Shroff, who has previously worked with the director in Rangeela, will play one of the main antagonists referred to as Sir in the movie. Manoj Bajpayee will essay the role of Govind Deshpande, which, RGV said is “a slightly violent version of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal”.

Ronit Roy plays the right hand man of Subhash Nagre, called Gokul Satam. Amit will be seen portraying Shivaji aka Cheeku. Bharat Dhabolkar will essay the role of Gorakh Rampur in the movie.

Yami Gautam will be seen as Annu Karkare, who wants to take revenge on Sarkar for killing her father.

Amitabh Bachchan will reprise his role as Subhash Nagre but Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will not be a part of the film.

Indian limited-overs skipper MS Dhoni has stated that giving rest to players like Ravindra Jadeja and R Aswhin was important, ahead of the ODI series against New Zealand.

"If you see this team, we have to keep the rest of the season also in mind. There is very little break in the middle. I think it is a good decision to a rest a few players. At times, we have to keep a long time view. Its gives us an opportnity to give see a few new players and it will be good to see the bench strength. We will be playing 8 matches before the Champions Trophy, so whatever we have we can see in this period," Dhoni said.

While Suresh Raina's position in the team is still precarious, due to his viral flu, Dhoni would look to promote himself up the order. "I may bat slightly up the order now. This team gives me that opportunity to bat at the position where I am looking to. Still it will be quite low, its not like a number 4 but it will be relatively higher to the position where I have batted in the last few years," Dhoni said.

He added, "I think we follow west a lot. A few years back we spoke about split captaincy. Then we asked why not and now we are asking why. I think we look at the foreign teams and we are like we should do be doing that way. But culturally, we are very different. The amount of cricket that we play is very different."

India calls out Pakistan lie over surgical strike ‘bluff’, reduces it to ‘laughing stock’

The News International Pakistan’s story titled “Indian FS admits surgical strikes was a bluff” is completely concocted and baseless,” Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Vikas Swarup said in a tweet. (PTI)
India today rubbished Pakistan for ‘concocting’ a story on FS S Jaishankar ”admiting” that surgical strike conducted by Indian Army was nothing but a ”bluff”, Pakistan claims the entire report was baseless.

“The News International Pakistan’s story titled “Indian FS admits surgical strikes was a bluff” is completely concocted and baseless,” Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Vikas Swarup said in a tweet. He further stated that German Ambassador Dr Martin Ney was in the group of foreign envoys briefed by the Foreign Secretary on September 29 on the surgical strikes and that “they have had no further conversation since on this subject.”

A leading Pakistan publication called the ‘surgical strike’ conducted by Indian Army a ”drama” and India has called out its lie turning the Pakistan establishment into a joke.

Quoting an ‘informed official’ source, the daily had reported that, “the Pakistani mission had been told that during a formal meeting on the issue of the ongoing India-Pakistan stand-off between German Ambassador to India Dr Martin Ney and Indian FS Subramaniam Jaishankar in New Delhi, “the Indian Foreign Secretary has categorically denied and said that there was no ‘surgical strike’ undertaken by Indian Army inside Azad Kashmir (Pakistan occupied Kashmir), Pakistan”.

Acccording to Pakistani daily Pakistani authorities reported that ”by its mission during the discussion Ms Rukhsana briefed the officials about relentless atrocities being committed by Indian army in Kashmir that have resulted in thousand of injuries, including people blinded by pellet gun shots and deaths of almost 100 Kashmiris.”

Needless to say the Pakistan report stands rejected and in the international community, Pak’s stature stands even further diminished.

Modi's memo to Rawalpindi: This India is tough, deal with it

Despite warning that there will be a strong and befitting response to Uri at a time and location of India’s choosing, the Pakistani Army was caught napping.  The Indians struck and struck hard, knocking the swagger out of the two Sharifs   —  Raheel, who did not want to miss the jaunt to Europe amidst the red-hot tensions in the sub-continent, and Nawaz, who, whether  in Pakistan or out in Panama counting the stolen billions, matters  little anyway.
An element of surprise is always crucial in covert and overt warfare. Both organised armies and non-state actors rely on it. The Indian Army last Thursday raided at least 3 km inside Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to neutralise scores of terrorists. It was an extraordinary act.  And marked the beginning of the beginning of the certain end of terrorism in the sub-continent as we have known it thus far.
Had our  armed forces been empowered  to undertake such reprisals when Pakistan first began to `bleed India through  a thousand  cuts’  some three decades back, in all probability Pakistan would have ceased harassing us by now. Or the matters could have come to a head with some conclusion reached about the terms of engagement between the two nuclear-armed  neighbours.
In the absence of an effective Indian response so far, India-Pakistan relations had meandered aimlessly, with periodic engagements of the diplomatic kind followed by long months of sullenness induced by terror atrocities  in between.
After the Uri attack and its consequences, the Rawalpindi GHQ will finally come to terms  that a `new’ leader is in place in India. India’s first post-Independence born Prime Minister Narendra Modi is  not to be held back by the usual fears and concerns that had assailed  his predecessors. A new, assertive India, the third largest economy in the world in purchasing power parity, is no longer ready to turn the other cheek even as a rogue nation seeks to torment it constantly. Just as well that Modi  called its bluff.
Yet, the powerful Sharif  — not the one who is a  dummy  — is bound to respond sooner than later, particularly  since the clock is ticking against him. Due  to retire next month, Sharif  would like to come up with a demonstrable riposte so that he can get an extension as Army chief. Following the  Indian reprisal Sharif’s ‘moochh’ has begun to sag.  Otherwise his stock with `aam’ Pakistanis was quite high, especially when  the Pakistani Army began to go  after  `bad’ terrorists  following the massacre  of school kids in Peshawar in December 2014.
Notwithstanding some  rotten elements in Kashmir Valley, who mourned  the death of two Pakistani soldiers in the post-Uri operation,  the parasitical Hurriyat crowd will  definitely want to tamp down its stone-throwing display following the unmistakable message of strength sent out to Pakistan. If it cannot be business as usual on the Line of Control, it cannot be business as usual in Kashmir too. In short, not only the Generals in Rawalpindi GHQ but the fat-cat Geelanis and Maliks in Srinagar too were put on notice: Behave, or else…

When all else fails, the use of force becomes not only unavoidable  but a bounden duty.  From the way the surgical strikes were carried out, it was clear that all concerned had learnt their lessons from the over-the-top reaction to the Myanmar operation last year. On all fronts — military, diplomatic, political, media, etc — there was a clear demonstration of  maturity and perfect coordination. Small wonder, then, everyone, bar Sita Ram Yechury, who could not shun the `talk- with- them’ dirge even on this rare day of national unity,  in the Opposition felt obliged to endorse the Army action.
More likely than not the Uri reprisal could  be the beginning of a series of events which might detract from the on-going efforts to boost development and economic growth  — the only plausible excuse of the weak for the strategic restraint exercised till Uri.  We should be prepared to  take on the chin what Pakistan might  t

MUST READ!! ‘If Pak sells nuclear knowledge, will you publish it?’ Minister’s bizarre comparison

Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday hinted that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's cabinet might even consider selling of 'nuclear knowledge' to overcome financial crisis being faced by the country.

Some recent reports in the Pakistani media also said the government has, after motorway and airports, decided to mortgage PTV and Radio Pakistan buildings in order to secure loans.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, the Pakistani Interior Minister said, "Someday I call one of you my friend and suppose tell you that a meeting has been conducted and it has been decided that Pakistan is under huge economic crunch and will so sell its nuclear knowledge; so, now you tell me, you are a journalist, but you are a Pakistani too, wouldn't you be able to understand that what could be the implications for Pakistan if I publish this news?"

He drew this parallel in a bid to justify putting Dawn journalist Cyril Almeida on the Exit Control List (ECL).

The Pakistan Government a couple of days back put Almeida on the ECL after the Dawn published a report, denied by authorities, by him about an alleged rift between the country's powerful military and its government. During the conference, Khan also said, "An attempt has been made to adversely impact a critical national security paradigm, so there should be an inquiry... Indian media used the report, saying that publication of the story verifies the Indian narrative of Pakistani dealings with non-state actors."

We have tight military relations with India, says Russian minister countering Pakistan bonhomie

As India plays host to the BRICS summit this year, India-Russia dynamics are being watched very closely.

An old ally of India, Russia has ruffled feathers with its joint army exercise with Pakistan ahead of the BRICS. While a naval exercise has been conducted in the past, it was strictly a counter narcotic operation drill. A full fledged military exercise between Pakistan and Russia has set the alarm bells ringing in India.

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Russian Trade and Industry Minister, Denis Valentinovich Manutrov revealed that Russia's key defence deals are on the card to re-enforce defence ties between Moscow and New Delhi.

"We have very tight relations with India, specially with military co-operation and supplying military equipment. We have strong relations in industrial co-operation. We are looking forward to more facilities and new military industrial co-operation, not only in aviation, land forces but also in other spheres. Military industry is always like a locomotive for civil industries," said Manturov.

DEFENCE DEALS

One of the key defence deals between Moscow and New Delhi at BRICS is going to be the 200 Kamov Ka-226T helicopters. While KA-226T will replace ageing Cheetah and Chetak choppers, the Russian industry minister confirmed to India Today, how its components will be manufactured in India.

"We are looking forward for civil industry co-operation like helicopter KA-226T for which Mr Modi decided to establish the assembly manufacturing in India. We are finalising the details of the contract of this project," said Manturov to India Today.

Talking about a joint co-operation in military deals, Russian minister emphasised on proposal to set up production unit of its regional aircraft Illyushin IL-114 in India.

"We are in discussion for the co-operation in the original Sukhoi jets to produce components by Indian companies, as well as, new project for Turboprop regional aircraft IL-114. We are willing to have co-operation in this project. So, we have a wide range of projects not only in military but civil areas as well," said Manturov ahead of the BRICS summit in Goa.

Secure Afghan In The Interest Of Both India And Pakistan: US

The US has reiterated that peace in Afghanistan will be in the interest of both India and Pakistan, the two South Asian nuclear-armed neighbours.

"With regard to Afghanistan, it's in the interests of both India and Pakistan to see a stable, secure Afghanistan emerge from the years of fighting," US State Department deputy spokesperson Mark Toner said in the daily press briefing here on Thursday.

He was responding to a question on a group of Pakistani envoys carrying the message that Pakistan would not let have peace in Afghanistan unless US helped "solve" the Kashmir issue.

"And certainly, in the interest of regional security as well, there's a lot of contentious issues, as you note, between India and Pakistan, but the two countries we would encourage to take a more conciliatory approach to each other and to work through some of these issues for the greater good of the region," Toner said.

Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated with the Indian Army carrying out surgical strikes across the Line of Control (LoC) last month in Jammu and Kashmir on terror launch pads.

This came in the wake of the September 18 cross-border terror attack on an army base at Uri in Jammu and Kashmir in which 19 Indian soldiers lost their lives.

India has blamed the Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed for the attack.

In September, India, the US and Afghanistan held a trilateral meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York, the first such since 2013.

Both the US and Afghanistan appreciated India's role in development work in the war-torn South Asian nation.

Homeless couple assists animal lover in taking care of stray dogs in South Mumbai

A homeless couple has become an integral part of South Mumbai’s animal welfare activists’ lives, fostering at least seven to eight abandoned, ill and injured animals right outside the Marine Lines railway station.

Krishna and his wife — known simply as ‘Anna’ and ‘Anni’ by local animal welfare workers — have lived on the footpath for around seven years.

The duo is helped by Farida Baja, an animal lover and resident of Marine Lines, in looking after the animals.

Baja, who has been working for animals for the last 17 years, had enlisted the couple’s help to care for stray animals in the city six years ago.

“Once I was passing by, when I saw that Anna’s dog was wounded, and the wound had festered into a severe maggot infestation. I nursed it back to health. Ever since then, Anna has been my second-in-command,” said Baja. “He used to be engaged in filling water tanks, but he lost that job. So now, I pay him for looking after needy strays, and also provide meals for him and Anni,” she added.

Baja and her team cover the area from Colaba to Walkeshwar to Crawford Market. “We feed all the stray dogs in these areas. If they are in need of medical treatment, we get in touch with NGOs in the area. When sterilisation is needed, the dogs are taken away but then dropped off in the same place,” Baja explained.

Currently, seven dogs are living with Anna and Anni on the footpath. “Three of these dogs were tied here by someone who left a note saying they can’t take care of the dogs anymore. The rest are sick dogs who were rescued from shelters that were being negligent,” said Baja.

Although there have been instances of adoptions of stray dogs straight from the footpath, Baja said most times they stay with Anna long after they become healthy.

Baja’s cause is supported by some locals who are willing to help out. “A local homeopathy doctor, Dr Farukh, agreed to provide a room for us to cook food for the dogs for free. So for the last two months, the food is being made there and then delivered,” Baja said. She also testifies of unknown helpers who leave blankets, raincoats, pedigree, etc on the footpath.

Authorities like the police and the local bodies, on their part, do not bother the couple and their dogs anymore.

“Anna has not built any kind of structure for himself, so they are not bothered. Still, on occasions like January 26, they are asked to leave. Sometimes, they are even asked for money by sweepers, etc,” said Baja.

MUST READ!! An extension for Gen Sharif would mean Pak is planning a war

An extension for General Raheel Sharif in November would only mean that Pakistan is readying for a major military offensive against India.

All eyes will be on Pakistan and India would watch with keen interest if General Raheel Sharif is given an extension or not. General Sharif is due to retire as the chief of the army in November.

Indian officials say that what plays out in Pakistan in November would be a signal for us. If the general is given an extension then it would clearly mean that Pakistan is readying for a major conflict with India. However, going by the indications in Pakistan, the civilian government wants tensions with India to reduce.

For now, there is talk that General Sharif would like to avenge the surgical strikes carried out by India. His cloak of invincibility has gone following this strike and he would be looking to hit back.

India says going by the mood in the Pakistan establishment, they would be looking to retaliate. General Sharif in particular wants to strike back and this could be in the form of a military offensive or a terrorist attack. While the civilian government is indicating that it wants a peaceful solution, the mood is not the same in the army.

Officials say that a lot would be known by November when General Sharif is due to retire. He had said some months back he does not wish to seek an extension. However the situation was different at that time. This time around going by his mood, he wants to strike back and avenge the surgical strike

. The question is will Prime Minister Nawaz Sharrif offer him an extension. Unlikely for now say observers, but also add that if he is granted an extension it is a clear signal that Pakistan wants conflict with India.

It’s official: Video evidence of surgical strikes won’t be released

The government has decided for now it will NOT release any evidence of the surgical strikes and the damage caused to the terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, arguing that doing so would push the Pakistan Army into a corner.

Top sources in the government reported that “war is not in India’s interest at this point’ but “that does not, however, mean that we won’t fight and win a war if it is forced upon us’.

Highlighting the diplomatic success of the surgical strikes, sources said that no country has objected to India’s action, including Pakistan’s closest ally, China. Most statements have been in India’s support, including from the Islamic world. The military operations, sources said, were timed after the United Nations General Assembly meeting was over in New York to avoid complications “which would have diverted our attention and diplomatic energies”.

The announcement that Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan would be the chief guest at the next Republic Day celebrations — it was made after the strike ‘” was also part of the government’s diplomatic strategy. Sources said the United States was not informed by the government before the Army carried out the surgical strikes.

The telephone call between National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his American counterpart, Susan Rice, that morning also did not mention any specific details about the military operations although he dropped adequate hints that some military activity may have taken place on the Line of Control (LoC), sources said.

“We will never be strategically subservient to any country, including the United States. That has been our policy since Nehru’s time; it was what even non-alignment was about. We have worked closely with various world powers over the years, but we will never give up our decisional autonomy,” sources said.

The success of the surgical strikes, sources said, had removed the sense of helplessness that had gripped the country after every previous terror attack. The biggest gain has been the demonstration of national will, along with the decisional autonomy and capability to exercise options, sources said.

Deepika gets emotional while talking about her depression

Stigma attached to mental ailments is the main reason why the society is struggling to address the problem, and the day we manage to tide over it together and bring awareness, we will win this battle, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone said on Monday.

The 30-year-old actress, who herself battled depression, was speaking here at the launch of a nationwide campaign to bring awareness about psychological disorders, on World Mental Health Day.

"It is important to realise that the kind of society we live in today, we have become very competitive, and drilled into it, which is a good thing, but, I also think, we have become a little less sensitive to people around us...No one should feel that they do not belong to society", she said.

Sharing her personal struggle with depression, Deepika broke down during the function, and said, it is important that there is a supporting ecosystem of family and friends that allows the suffering person to cope with the disorder with hope and dignity.

"When I shared my story first, I did not feel any stigma or shame attached to it. And, the reason I came out in the open about it was because I just did not want to feel what I was feeling, I did not let depression to get the better of me", she said.

"So, I think the root cause is stigma. And the day we, as a society, can together get over that stigma and bring awareness about mental health issues, we will win this battle", she added.

The campaign has been jointly launched by Indian Psychiatric Society, Indian Medical Association and Deepika's Bengaluru-based nonprofit foundation, the Live Love Laugh Foundation (TLLLF), under which they will develop outreach programmes to highlight the urgent mental health challenges that India faces.
Deepika, who recently had also become the brand ambassador of the Indian Psychiatric Society, said the campaign was dedicated to all those people who have survived mental illness.

Asked if social media was creating psychological pressure on celebrities, she said, "It is important to nurture, nourish and protect ourselves...And, I wouldn't share what I do about it, as it depends on person to person. But, as my father told me, focus on things in your control and don't fret over things which are out of your control."

India is home to the largest number of mental health patients in the world with at least 50 million Indians estimated to be undergoing depression at any one point in time, according to the Society's President Dr G Prasad Rao.

A special video and poster campaign, #DobaraPoocho (ask again) was also unveiled on the occasion. "We decided to be part of the campaign so we have volunteered and given our support. Deepika could have kept it all to herself, but she shared her struggle and turned it into a movement" , CEO, McCann Worldgroup India, Prasoon Joshi said.

Discussing the importance of Mental Health, PsyCare Neuro-Psychiatry and Allied Sciences (PsyCare) in association with the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS) organised a panel discussion on Mental Health and its Significance on Monday, which is designated as the World Mental Health Day every year by the World Health Organisation.

"It is entirely possible to have good mental health even with the diagnosis of mental illness. With the right support and tools from professionals every individual can live well and work towards their goals," said Dr N G Desai, director, IHBAS.

The comprehensive psychological health services of PsyCare were also launched on the occasion. The agenda was in line with the theme declared by WHO for the year 2016, 'Psychological and Mental Health First Aid', that focused on the concept of mental health and illness in India, the burden of the disease and extent of the problem. PsyCare also organised a free mental health camp for the under-privileged in association with Swashrit Society at Ranjit Nagar.
